Nairobi woman representative Esther Passaris has expressed disappointment in the effectiveness of the systems being used by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Speaking at Farasi Lane primary school where she had gone to cast her vote, Passaris who is seeking the woman representative seat on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket highlighted faults in the KIEMS kit used by the electoral body.

In her opinion, Passaris noted that voters struggled to correctly identify their voting streams citing faults in the KIEMS kits used for identification.

"It's already an hour past, I'm not able to vote right now so I have to come back later, most people on the line are probably going to vote in stream two,

"When my daughter went to polling station three her name was there but she was told to go to polling station 4, when she went to polling station four she was asked to go to polling station three, the process went on four to three times, eventually the system accepted her," she added.

While defending the importance of the manual voter register, Passaris further asked the electoral body to act expeditiously and make changes to enhance a smooth election process.

"I'm asking Kenyans to be patient because this is the only day they get to exercise their democratic right to vote," she added.
