Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi finally surrenders to the police

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi on Sunday morning presented himself to the police at the Langas Police Station in Uasin Gishu County.

Police have been searching for the controversial MP over incitement and hate speech claims.

Sudi arrived at the police station at about 8 am in the company of a lawyer and MPs Caleb Kositany (Soy), Cornelius Serem (Aldai) and Didmus Barasa (Kimilili) among others.

On Saturday, police officers desperately tried to arrest Sudi having barricaded his home since Friday night.

There was drama with some youths, armed with bows, arrows, and clubs, seeking to stop police officers from arresting the Kapseret MP.

After hours of patience, the police officers broke into the residence on Saturday morning but the MP was not present.

Among the people police officers arrested at the MP's home were Presidential Escort Unit officers, Simon Siengo, Issack Dida, and C.I Ekiru.

According to the police report, a General Service Unit officer was injured on his right-hand thumb when they were breaking into Sudi's residence.

In their report, police said the GSU officer was injured by the MP's guard identified as Samuel Kibiwot. The guard whos sustained gunshot wounds on both his right and left shoulders.
