The 32-year-old former legislator, who now works as a director in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Delivery Unit, was travelling to Kakamega from Kisumu alongside four other passengers in his vehicle, a Toyota Prado, when the accident occurred.
The boda boda rider, who succumbed to his injuries in the crash, was taken to Kakamega County Referral Hospital morgue.
The injured were rushed to the same hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
K24 Digital understands that as at 2:50pm Wednesday, Osele was being transferred to Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu for advanced medical attention.
Western region Police Commander, Rashid Yakub, confirmed the incident.
Osele served as Kasipul Kabondo representative to the National Assembly between 2013 and 2017.
In the run-up to the August 8, 2017 general election, Osele, who was 30 years old at the time, was defeated by the current Kasipul Kabdondo MP, Eve Obara, in the ODM Party primaries.
Obara, a former Managing Director at the Kenya Literature Bureau, would go all the way to clinch the parliamentary seat.
