Likoni OCPD Jane Kavutha Munywoki and Nyandarua West Deputy OCPD Ephraim Karani have been arrested for allegedly demanding a Ksh500,000 bribe.

“Munywoki and Karani were arrested following conclusion of investigation into alleged demand of a bribe of Ksh500,000 by the duo while serving in South Kinangop, Nyandarua County as Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) and District Administration Police Commander (DAPC), respectively,” police said.

“They demanded the bribe as inducement to effect an eviction order, validly issued by a Law Court against illegal occupants of a private property.”

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) on February 10 gave the greenlight for the suspects’ arraignment.

“The two are being processed, awaiting arraignment on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the Nyahururu Anti-Corruption Court,” said police.
