Migori Governor Okoth Obado and his children were on Wednesday morning driven to Nairobi after surrendering to Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officers in Kisii.
This followed an order of arrest for Obado and four of his children by Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji on Tuesday over alleged theft of public funds.
The suspects are set to be held at the EACC headquarters at Integrity House once they reach the capital city on Wednesday afternoon.

An EACC source said that they are likely to be charged over the alleged sH73.5 million theft of public funds on Thursday, August 27.
Obado family's lawyer said that he is still waiting for the charge as the prosecution has not revealed what his clients will be charged with.
The EACC has been investigating the Migori governor following reports that he received money from companies that traded with the county government during his first term in office.
DPP Haji claimed that Obado's children separately got Sh34.5 million from his companies and three brothers who acted as his proxies.
“Public money was lost through the connivance of the governor and the business entities in payments made for the performance of contracts,” Mr Haji said in a statement on Tuesday, August 25.
