Security officers in Murang'a County have confirmed that they are searching for Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro to arrest and take him to court.

According to Murang'a County Commander Josphat Kinyua, they are conducting investigations into the scuffle which happened on Sunday at Gitui Catholic Church.

Addressing the press at his office, Kinyua, however, said Ndindi is not the only person being sought as they shall arrest everyone who contributed to the eruption of chaos.

The police boss said the church's chairman and several Catholic faithful have recorded their statements.

"We are probing the matter to zero-in on those involved, including the MP but he is not our only subject" he said.

But Kinyua denied claims that they are acting on orders from above to harrass and intimidate the MP, saying they are only doing their work.

"We had been invited by the church to provide them with security because they were having a fundraiser and they were also expecting high profile guests," he said.

"We have no political affiliations her. Our work is generally to maintain law and order," said Kinyua.

The county criminal investigating officer Julius Rutere said the legislator committed an offense and should be arrested and charged.

"We are hunting for him and we shall not rest until we get him," said Rutere.

The officer said Ndindi should surrender himself to any police station, and if not, they shall look for him in every corner.

"We shall prefer charges of assault, causing disturbance and resisting arrest" said Rutere
