Police in Wetemere slums, Nyeri county, are investigating an incident where a middle-aged man was found with his genitals mutilated.
Confirming the incident, Nyeri County Police Commander Steve Ambrose Olo said that police received a report from a village elder that a man had been found bleeding inside a bathroom with his private organs missing.
He said that when his officers rushed to the scene, they found the man, identified as David Kamau bleeding profusely inside the said bathroom and questioned him.

Upon interrogation, the man directed officers to a scene where they found the missing genitals and rushed him to Nyeri County Referral hospital. The victim is currently undergoing treatment.
"A man has had his private parts mutilated. However, we are waiting for him to recover so that we can take his fingerprints to identify him and know why he was attacked and by who, but at the moment, we cannot say much," the county police boss said.
He called upon the residents to desist from taking the law into their own hands and instead report to the police to allow the law to take its course.
