ODM leader Raila Odinga on Sunday, July 17, 2022, took the Azimio One Kenya coalition charm offensive to Nairobi's Embakasi East Constituency.

He was flanked by a host of city politicians led by his running mate Martha Karua, in the mission to fill his vote basket ahead of the forthcoming August 9 presidential polls.

During their visit, the politicians attended a church service at Globe Deliverance Church.

The clergy committed the Azimio duo before the Lord and wished them luck in their bid.

In photos seen by K24 Daily Digital, the ODM leader is seen wearing a red robe and holding a Bible.

Timothy Njoya slams Raila

Photos of Raila donning high priest's holy garments rubbed some people the wrong way. Reverend Timothy Njoya was among netizens who openly expressed their disapproval of Raila's choice to wear cleric attire.

Njoya, who apart from being a reverend is also a second liberation hero, termed Raila's decision to wear a priest's holy garments as a violation and misuse of what is regarded as sacred.

"Isn't this self-transportation of a politician into High Priest sacrilegious, obscene and diabolical? Doesn't this trespass the boundaries of a secular state into theocracy?" Njoya tweeted.
