There was a third woman in the fight that saw Eddie Ndichu and his twin brother Paul Ndichu accused of assaulting women at Ole Sereni hotel on Saturday night, K24 Digital can authoritatively reveal.
From the onset, Ndichu brothers were accused of assaulting a woman who was allegedly in the company of her sister at the Nairobi hotel but K24 Digital has established that there was a third woman, Munyra Hassan, who is Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi’s niece.
In a turn of events, Munyra has come out to claim she was the woman under attack at the hotel and not the two women; Stephanie Murgor and Cheryl Murgor as had been previously reported. She also claims that the eventual fight was between her and one of the Murgor nieces.
“My name is Munyra Hassan, Ahmednasir’s niece. On Saturday night the Ndichu twins and I with friends were at the hotel’s rooftop as residents.
“One of the ladies in question walked by us and, from nowhere, reminded Eddie of his marriage with Janet Mbugua. She kept on repeating that Eddie was Janet’s husband, a behaviour that Eddie evidently didn’t like.
“At some point, one of the twins told the lady’s man while exiting that his lady was a bit respectful and the lady didn’t take the comment lightly so she charged at us. I told her to back off as we were leaving but when we go to the lobby, a lady came running while screaming, ready to fight the person who she said pissed her sister off. And that’s how they started fighting me,” Munyra told K24 Digital and submitted a comprehensive statement which is on our desk as well.
She says she was in pain and had to rush for medical checkup, whose report we have. She also reported the matter to the police at Kiambu police station and we have a copy of the report.
This comes barely three days after the two, through their uncle who is senior counsel Philip Murgor, had explained their ordeal.
According to a statement released by Murgor, his nieces were attending a wedding after-party at the hotel and were accompanied by their two male friends – Samuel Ramdas and Patrick Koech.
Later in the night as they were having a good time with their friends, Eddie reportedly made an improper pass at Stephanie. This prompted the 24-year-old lady to ask him if she was the husband to former Citizen TV anchor Janet Mbugua. The question was, however, answered by a lady who was in the company of the Ndichu brothers.
“One of the so-called “Ndichu twin Brothers” dressed in dark clothing made an improper pass at Stephanie, to which she responded; “aren’t you the husband of Janet Mbugua?” The lady who was with the twin brothers then shouted “Ex-husband!” Philip Murgor narrated.
The statement further explained that after Stephanie left her table and headed to the exit, one of the twins assaulted her by referring to her as a ‘bitch’ before another twin jumped on her and started choking her on the throat.
To escape the confrontation, the statement says Stephanie and his friend opted to leave the room and decided to leave the hotel. The twin brother and their lady friend followed them to the ground floor where they once again started to assault them.
“At the ground floor, Stephanie and Samuel went to bring the car around, while Cheryl and Patrick waited at the lobby. Suddenly the twin brothers with their lady friend appeared on the ground floor. One of the brothers together with the lady proceeded to attack Cheryl and Patrick, after which both brothers proceeded to the front entrance where Stephanie and Sammy were waiting in the car,” the statement read.
During the confrontation, the two brothers went ahead to vandalize their victim’s car as well as threatened to shoot them.
According to Murgor, it is the intervention of the police and the hotel’s security personnel that saved his nieces and their friends.
It is after the police came that the twin brothers offered to pay Stephanie and her friends ksh110,000 to cover for the damages they caused to their car. Sammy, Stephanie’s boyfriend, accepted the payment but the brother later reversed the money they had paid through Mpesa.
Ndichu brothers’ friends are however alleging that the money was reversed after they realized the recipient had extortion plans.
The ladies issued this explanation after a video that allegedly captured what transpired at the night went viral.
