Leading gaming company Mozzart on Friday, July 16, commissioned a freshwater well at Kakili Primary School in Makueni County.

This is the sixth freshwater point Mozzart has commissioned under their ambitious “ACTION 100 WELLS" CSR programme that aims to have 100 wells in different communities in Kenya.

Previously the organization had commissioned water points in Imbo Kothidha in Homa Bay County, Lurambi Primary School in Kakamega County, Chebuyo Dispensary in Bomet, Katanga Secondary School in Machakos and at the Murumba Market in Busia.

The Governor of Makueni County, His Excellency Professor Kivutha Kibwana lauded Mozzart for the initiative.

“We are very happy with what Mozzart has done for the people of Makueni. This will definitely open up more opportunities for us and it is something others should emulate and help us the deserving people in our communities.” He said.

Mozzart Country Manager Sasa Krneta highlighted why the organization is implementing its “ACTION 100 WELLS" programme.

“The global COVID-19 pandemic has also demonstrated the critical importance of sanitation, hygiene and adequate access to clean water for preventing and containing diseases,” he said.

“While substantial progress has been made in increasing access to clean drinking water, billions of people mostly in rural areas, still lack this basic need. According to statistics worldwide, one in three people do not have access to safe drinking water,” Krneta added.

It is for this reason that Mozzart began this ambitious project called “ACTION 100 WELLS” which aims at drilling boreholes to deliver safe and clean drinking water to 100 communities in Kenya. The boreholes are powered by Solar Pumps to sort out the problem with electricity outages.

“We are very much honoured to commission the sixth well for the people of the great Makueni County, here at Kakili Primary School, Nzaui Sub County, and we hope this will positively impact the lives of the community around,” he said.

“As Mozzart, we are big on improving the lives of Kenyan communities in various ways and that is the primary focus of our CSR programmes – in the many football tournaments and teams we support, health centres we help equip and also through the ACTION 100 wells,” he concluded.

Mozzart Marketing Manager Frank Ochieng’ echoed Sasa's sentiments.

“Supporting community projects is something Mozzart is very keen on in all the countries we operate in and we are therefore very glad to be here to support the people of Makueni,” he said.
