Nakuru: Police launch investigations into death of six p****e after they allegedly consumed illicit brew

Police officers in Njoro, Nakuru county have launched investigations to establish circumstances that led to the demise of six people in separate incidents suspected to be in connection with the consumption of illicit brew in the area.

"We laud residents of Jowatho estate for the support they have accorded our officers who are gathering crucial details to unravel the mysterious deaths," the police said.

Detectives have since pieced up information that led them to Nakuru General Hospital, where three people had succumbed from what doctors suspected to have been food poisoning.

According to the police, Francis Mwangi Mungai, a resident of Jowatho, also estate lost his 38-year-old son Michael Kariuki without any previous history of illness.

"We have established that six people have so far died, and their bodies are lying at Egerton University and Nakuru Provincial Hospital morgues," the police said.

Police further took the opportunity to urge the public to consume products that have been declared fit for human consumption.

"We urge the public to consume products that have been declared fit for human consumption and, at the same time, take note on the expiry details of all consumables," the police said.
