As the world marked Father's Day on Sunday June 19, a man committed suicide at his rented house in Rhonda Estate, Nakuru County.

In a police report seen by K24 Digital, the man only identified as Ochieng, 35, hanged himself using a pink mosquito net.

The matter was reported by Winnie Wanjiru Mwaura who owns the house in which Ochieng ended his life.

"She reported that she received a report that one of her tenants namely Ochieng a Luo male adult had committed suicide in one of her rented houses," the report filed at Rhonda police station read in part.

Detectives then acted swiftly and visited the scene where the deceased had ended his life in.

Police said that the main reason why Ochieng ended his life was because he has been having domestic violence with his enstranged wife who abandoned him.

His body was taken to Nakuru County Government Mortuary for postmortem.

Cases linked to domestic violence and finally death have been on an upward trajectory ever since the Coronavirus epidemic hit the world.

Apart from just civilians in Kenya even police officers have not been left behind as they have been hugely affected.
