The Nakuru East Member of Parliament David Gikaria has been released today after spending the night in police custody after he allegedly caused chaos on elections day.

Nakuru County Commander Peter Mwanzo, speaking to journalists, has said that the legislator will have to be reporting to the Nakuru Central Police Station every three days for seven working days as police launch more investigations into the matter.

Gikaria was arrested yesterday for inflicting injuries to a fellow candidate.

He is also facing charges of causing a fracas in two different polling stations and injuring one person who was taken to the hospital for treatment.

"No one is above the law, law is like a double-edged sword. Gekaria for defying the law will have to face its wrath," Mwanzo said.
