Nairobi’s Langata area in total darkness as Kenya Power announces technical hitch

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has given an update on the power black out being experienced in Langata and its surroundings.

In a statement to its customers in the affected regions, KPLC linked to the Tuesday night black out to a technical hitch being experienced in at it's Nairobi West sub-station.

"We would like to inform our customers in Langata that we are experiencing a fault on the bulk supply line 2 from Embakasi to the Nairobi West sub-station which has rendered the Lanagata sub-station off supply," KPLC said in a statement.

Parts of Langata Road, Langata Southlands, Phenom estate, parts of Magadi Road, Bomas of Kenya, Mukinduri, Kuwinda, Langata South Road, parts of Ushirika, Banda Lane, Mukoma Road, Bagani Road, Nairobi Academy, Kufuga Road, Fair Acres, Hillcrest School, Karen Hospital, Hillcrest Close, Ndege Road, Kwarala Road and Nzhohe road are affected.

KPLC assured the affected customers that it is working under the clock to remedy the situation.
