A distressed Nairobi lady reached out to Kenyans on Thursday October 14, 2021 asking for help after she was locked in an eatery's washroom.

The lady, identified as Sandra Wahiga, shared her plight on her Twitter account saying that workers in the Nairobi eatery, who were oblivious of the fact that she was inside the ladies washrooms, locked her in the toilet for close to an hour.

"Anyone who follows me, I need your help. I am locked in at an eatery along Moi Avenue, Pepinos along Kimathi street CBD. I was in the ladies when they locked up. Which was an hour ago. Please retweet to help me get to the manager or owners," she said in her tweet.

She followed the tweet with a video post, pleading for help since she needed to report to work on Friday morning.

Kenyans on twitter shared her tweets widely, tagging the eatery's management and official twitter handles of the National Police Service.

In a further update, Sandra confirmed that police officers came to her rescue and ensured she was home.

She stated that the officers got wind of her situation after Kenyans on Twitter made concerted efforts to catch the attention of the authorities.

"UPDATE; Help came through. I was rescued. Thank you to each of you who took the time to retweet or reply to me. It meant so much. Special mention goes to the police who came to my rescue, with special mention to Inspector Oyoo, he specifically ensured that I was dropped home," she tweeted.

In her latest update, Sandra posted a video from her office desk, thanking Kenyans for retweeting her tweets.

She also expressed gratitude to the eatery's management for apologizing for the erroneous actions of its employees.
