A delivery man in Nairobi has found himself on the wrong side of the law after he attacked a customer for allegedly taking 'too' much time to collect his delivery.

In the case presented before resident Magistrate Jaqueline Onjwang, the suspect identified as Willis Lwande allegedly assaulted Hamza Abdirahman on May 29, 2022, in Nairobi's Lavington estate.

The court heard that on the said date, Lwande who was tasked with delivering the food Abdirahman had called him to collect his order.

Abdirahman arrived 10 minutes after Lwande called him. Angered by his delay, Lwande began hurling insults as he castigated the man.

The verbal altercation turned physical after Lwande hit the customer, injuring his face.

Abdirahman immediately rushed back to the compound calling on the security guards at the gate to arrest his attacker.

Lwande was held by the guards as they alerted detectives from Muthangari police station.

Abdirahman was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was treated and discharged.

Lwande denied the charges and was released on a Ksh100,000 bond and an alternative cash bail of Ksh50,000.

The case pre trial is set to be heard on June 29.
