Nairobi County Government on Thursday, May 27, named one of its roads after Central Organisation of Trade Union Secretary General Francis Atwoli.

The road that was previously known as Digdig road is located along Mandera road in Kileleshwa, Nairobi and it was launched by Deputy Governor Anne Mwenda Kananu.

Ms Kananu said that she had decided to honour Atwoli for a job well done in his career.

“You have played a major role in the society. Such leaders should be honoured. Supporting the community is a big role. Let us keep the same spirit,” she said.

Atwoli also appreciated the move as he thanked the Nairobi County leadership for the great honour.

“I thank the Nairobi County leadership under Anne Kananu for this great honour and recognition of services to the government of the day, the community and workers at large,” he said, adding that he will continue championing for what he believes is right.
