Nairobi County announces vacancies for over 200 teachers – this is how to apply

Nairobi County on Tuesday announced 219 job opportunities for teachers who meet certain qualifications.

In a notice, the County public service board asked all those who are interested and qualify for the job to submit their applications by Friday this week.

According to the board, those who will be picked for the job will be earning a basic salary of between Ksh 25,470 and Ksh 33,950.

In addition to that, they will also be given a house allowance of Ksh 6,750 and a commuter allowance of Ksh 4,000.

For one to be considered for the job they have to meet a number of qualifications which include; a diploma in Early Childhood Development Education which should be offered by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) or an institution that is approved by the Ministry of Education.

One will also be required to be registered by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and must possess a certificate in computer proficiency and hold a certificate of Good Conduct.

They must also clear with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).

On matters pertaining to skills, the candidates will be required to possess communication skills, leadership skills, organisational skills, interpersonal skills, negotiation skills and be a good problem solver.

They will be tasked with maintaining pupils’ personal records, attending parents’ meetings, coordinating and supervising co-curricular activities while at the same time advice parents/guardians on the child’s development progress, preparing of lesson notes and schemes of work.

The board has asked the qualified candidates to register at the Nairobi City County public service board recruitment portal by issuing a password and email address.

They will also be required to provide information on their personal information, academic details, employment details, cover letter and testimonials.

Once one has finished filling the tabs, then they will go ahead and click the submit button and await the shortlisting to be done.
