Outspoken Embakasi East MP Babu Owino claims that his life is in danger.

In a post on his Facebook account on Sunday, the University of Nairobi-educated MP claimed that four people who have been trailing him in recent weeks made an attempt on his life.

“...I can report that I am a targeted man. I have been consistently followed during the day and at night by a saloon vehicle that I now know with four occupants. Yesterday [Saturday, November 16, 2019], these men made an attempt on my life,” said Mr Owino.

However, the Orange Democratic Movement MP did not specify what the alleged assailants did to him, only that he reported the incident to the Parliament Police Station.

Further, the lawmaker said for the past “couple” of months, he has been on the receiving end of hateful abuse over his “outspoken brand of politics.”

“I am known for speaking out in defense of ordinary people without fear or favor. This seems to be rubbing some people in high places the wrong way. Regardless, I have done my duty to the people fearlessly and will continue to do so until the Lord calls me home,” said Mr Owino.
