Member of County Assembly (MCA) in Isiolo County, Salesio Kiambi, now claims his life is in danger after a Twitter user posted that he had died.

Speaking in Isiolo, the Wabera Ward MCA elect said he was shocked to find a multitude of people visiting his home to console his family after they saw the news of his "death" on Twitter on Tuesday, August 23.

The tweet read: "Wabera MCA elect Mr. Kiambi has passed away! He was reportedly sick and last night he passed on in his sleep. Rest in peace mhesh."

The lawmaker said the tweet was deleted after some time but the message about his death spread like a bushfire.

According to Kiambia, the author of the tweet is yet to be identified.

He reported the matter at Isiolo Police Station.

MCA asks for security

"My life is in danger. I'm calling upon the government to provide me with security because anything can happen to me," he said.

Kiambi suspects that the people behind the malicious post could be his political competitors who lost to him in the general election.

"To my political competitors, politics should not be enmity. Sell your agenda to the people and they may consider electing you next time," he said.
