Mwingi: Teacher who died in grisly road accident buried with her two sons

Teresia Mumbe Mulyungi, the teacher who died in a grisly road accident with her two sons has been laid to rest at Mikwa Village in Kyuso, Mwingi area in Kitui County.

The 37-year-old mother and her two sons, Micheal Mumo aged 4 years and Peter Mutai aged 1 year, were among 5 people who lost their lives following a head-on collision that occurred between a matatu they were aboard and a lorry in Kanga area, 30km from Mtito Andei.

Speaking during the funeral service of his wife, the widower Samuel Mulwa said the deaths of his loved ones have been a huge blow to him and his extended family and things will never be the same again.

"It will be really difficult for me to recover from the loss of my entire family," Mulwa said.

He eulogized his loving wife as a hardworking and understanding woman who always managed their home affairs well despite life challenges.

Before her demise, Mumbe was teaching Christian Religious Education (CRE) and Kiswahili at St. Augustine Mwingi school for less than a year.

St Augustine Mwingi school principal Micheal Mutie eulogized Mumbe as a hardworking teacher who interacted well with all people in the school.

Mwingi North Member of Parliament (MP) Paul Nzengu and former MP John Munuve were among the mourners who attended the burial ceremony.
