Former Naivasha MP John Mututho has called on the county government of Nakuru to crack down on commercial sex workers as one of the measures to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Mututho said as the government steps up awareness campaign to educate Kenyans on the importance of preventing the spread of the disease, commercial sex workers are at a risk of worsening the situation.

According to him, in Nakuru alone there are 17,300 prostitutes and 3,000 gay persons who serve at least three to 20 people per person on a single day, adding that through contact the virus may be spread.
