Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua has written a demand letter to activist Bonface Mwangi to apologise and pull down all "defamatory" information he published against him before close of business Thursday failure to which, he will take legal action.

"That you retract and pull down all the said libelous and defamatory publications of and concerning our client in the same prominence  as in the offensive publications," Mutua's lawyer Harisson Kinyanjui wrote.

The letter goes further to say the activist shall publish the apology which is acceptable and approved by the governor.

Bonface is alleged to have made the defamatory remarks through a video he published on his Facebook account which is accessed by anyone across the world.

Mutua claims the remarks by Mwangi that his thugs bombed his house, sank the house foundation and robbed his workers are demeaning and have greatly injured his character and discredit his reputation in the society.

He adds that the said video has brought him great ridicule, scandal, odium and contempt in the eyes of right thinking members of the society locally and internationally.

The governor said the allegations by the activist were not true and that he was a leader of good standing repute and the implications in the remarks touch on his leadership abilities and qualities of a leader.

Mutua said the remarks in the video portrayed him as an abusive man, a rapist, abusive to women, murderer and engage in criminal activities.
