Eight suspected thieves were on Sunday caught red-handed while stealing construction materials at the Mavoko Stadium.

The suspects were caught in the act by Governor Alfred Mutua and his Machakos County security team.

“This morning, a great citizen George M. called me and told me people were cutting & stealing iron bars from the ongoing works at the new Mavoko stadium in Athi River. I activated the Machakos security apparatus. We caught the thieves red handed,” said Dr Mutua on his Twitter handle.

Mutua posted the names of the suspects and their images on his twitter timeline after their arrest.
