A robbery with violence suspect on Monday, December 27, 2021, escaped from the Ndakaini police station in Murang’a County after assaulting a female cop.

In a police report seen by K24 Digital, David Kamau Muturi 31, assaulted Elizabeth Muleso Masaku leaving her unconscious.

According to the report, the suspect banged her against the wall within the station before he fled.

“It was reported by Elizabeth Muleso Masaku that one male adult David Kamau Muturi aged 31 years hacked her while she was on duty and banged her against the wall leaving her unconscious and ran away, after opening the grill door at the report office,” the report read in part.

The officer was badly injured and was rushed to Kirwara Level Four Hospital and is currently in a stable condition.

The fugitive suspect, who hails from Kandara, was nabbed for the offence of robbery with violence and rape.

The suspect had been remanded earlier in Thika until when charges against him were amended.

Cases of prisoners escaping lawful custody have been on the increase in the recent past.
