A man in Mulot town was on Thursday, January 19, 2023, busted feasting on dog's meat.

The 35-year-old who is known for scrap metal business was nabbed by members of the public preparing the meat on the outskirts of Mulot town near Amalo River.

Upon interrogation by Nyumba Kumi elders, the man revealed that he was also selling the meat to mutura traders within the area.

Nyumba Kumi Chairman, John Maridany said that the shocking revelation has left the residents living in fear for their health.

The suspect was frog matched to Mulot police station where he is being detained.

'We busted him in the act, he had served himself fried dog meat and kept remains safely in the bush probably for the following day," Maridany stated.

Maridany added that the suspect failed to reveal where he got his stock of dog meat.

"He refused to reveal where and how he slaughtered the dog meat but we realised that he targets stray dogs in Mulot town since the stray dogs have been reducing in number,” he added.

Kiplabotwa Chief Stanley Towett said they have been forced to immediately impose a ban on the sale of Mutura in Mulot.

Towett said the revelation by the suspect was shocking and they feared that locals were being fed dogs meat.

He said the suspect who only identified himself as Juma came to the town as a scrap metal dealer who sold dog meat at night.
