14 students from Mugoiti Girls School in Murang'a who were suspended for allegedly taking a second serving of a special meal will be readmitted to the school without any condition.

The students were sent home on January 19 and were supposed to bring back Ksh10,500 each as a penalty for taking an extra plate of food.

Susan Mundia, the school's principal said the suspension of the students was done by her deputy, who is one week old at the school, when she was away from the school.

The principal said that she decided to recall the students after the Board of Management held a meeting and decided to squash the punishment imposed on the girls.

"This was a mistake, but it happened when I was away but I take responsibility for it being the head of school," she said.

"I called the parents and apologized to them for the turn of events and they are comfortable to bring their daughters back to school" she added.

In the letter that went viral on social media platforms, the suspended students had committed two offences; taking two servings of special meal served on Sunday 16/01/2022 and making some students miss the food.

The letter further indicated that the students to report back to school accompanied by their parents and the Ksh10,500 that would cater for the special meal for the whole school.

The students were also to face a disciplinary committee for their actions.
