After making it to the Busia meeting chaired by Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, Lugari MP Ayub Savula finally explained events that led to this arrest.

Police had on Sunday morning, July 5, pounced on the MP and thrown him into cells at the Mumias Police Station.

The MP, speaking to K24 Digital, said that he was travelling from the home of Amani National Congress leader Mudavadi when members of the public spotted him at Sabatia market.

Savula said that the crowd blocked his car and demanded that he addresses them, a request he complied with.

Immediately after alighting from his vehicle to address the crowd, the MP said police officers ordered him to accompany them to the Mumias Police Station.

He said the police officers accused him of flouting COVID-19 regulations.

But after several hours at the station, police freed him without to continue with his journey to Busia.
