The car, that the legislator has been using while campaigning for his re-election, was allegedly set on fire at around 10.00 pm.

Efforts by police and residents to put out the raging fire were fruitless.

By the time we went to press, police officers and the lawmaker had not issued their comments on the incident.

The authorities maintained that they will release an official communication after comprehensive investigations.

Inside sources revealed that the driver of the vehicle was attacked and waylaid at Thiiti bridge along Mikinduri-Mulika road by an unknown gang before they set the car on fire.

Nobody was injured during the ugly incident and it is not yet clear if the legislator was in the ill-fated vehicle.

The lawmaker is facing stiff competition from East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Mpuru Aburi.
