Malindi Member of Parliament (MP) Aisha Jumwa has been released on Ksh4 million cash bail or Ksh3 million bond in the murder case lodged against her.

The lawmaker’s bodyguard, Geoffrey Otieno, who is her co-accused, was freed on Ksh1 million cash bail or Ksh1.5 million bond, the Mombasa High Court ruled Friday, October 23.

The suspects were ordered by Lady Justice Njoki Mwangi to surrender their passports to the court.

The suspects were also warned against interfering with witnesses.

Jumwa and Otieno are linked to the death of Ngumbao Jola, a 48-year-old-man, who was murdered in chaos that ensued during campaigns for a by-election in Ganda Ward in Malindi on October 15 last year.
