With 2022 just around the corner, politicians are coming out to declare their interests and today Moses Kuria has officially taken a plunge.

Speaking to a local radio station, Kuria says he will not be running for any political seat come 2022 but will focus on building Chama Cha Kazi for the interest of Mt Kenya.

“I have decided, I will not vie for any political seat in the 2022 General Election. I am focused on building Chama Cha Kazi for the interest of Mt Kenya,” he noted.

The Gatundu South MP who has been an undefeated candidate for the elective office since 2013 has cautioned leaders eyeing presidential seat in 2022 to prioritise the region as it is country's largest voting block.

“I am telling all the Presidential candidates to treat Mt Kenya with the seriousness it deserves. Going forward it will not be business as usual,” he cautioned.

Kuria has asked aspirants forming alliances to consider members from Mt. Kenya region pointing out some coalitions which have isolated the region.

"Leaders forming coalitions and alliances ahead of the 2022 elections have ignored the mountain yet they want votes from this region.

“Look at OKA for instance, there is no one from Mt Kenya,” he said.

This, he said while speaking to journalists after a meeting with Central Kenya leaders, among them Narc Kenya’s Martha Karua and former Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri.
