Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has asked the Director of Criminal Investigation George Kinoti to arrest politician Stanley Livondo following his remarks that someone wanted to kill President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The former Lang’ata parliamentary aspirant had on Saturday claimed that there have been two attempts on the life of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking during Kuria's thanksgiving ceremony in Thika, the politician stated that an unspecified government official tried, in two separate instances, to collapse an aircraft that had the Head of State aboard.

After the alleged instances, the former hopeful MP stated that the Head of State broke ranks with the unnamed top-ranking government official.

Following the remarks, Kuria has distanced himself from the 'reckless' statement and asked the DCI to expedite the politician's arrest.

"As the convenor of the thanksgiving prayer meeting in Thika, I may not be responsible for what speakers said but it was my meeting and I have to take responsibility. I have today requested @DCI_Kenya boss George Kinoti to arrest Stanley Livondo following his reckless statement," he posted on his official Facebook page.

Livondo's remarks that went viral on social media had sparked fury among Kenyans and leaders who have since yesterday been calling for his arrest.
