A 38-year-old man from Mkulima area in Kimilili, Bungoma County was arraigned on Monday after he was arrested last week in possession of 15, 000 small-size banned plastic bags.

Patrick Sikuku, who was also found with Ksh275, 000 in cash, was arraigned before Kimilili Resident Magistrate Gladys Olimo.

Sikuku, who is said to be mentally ill, will be subjected to a mental examination to know whether he can take plea, the magistrate directed.

Meanwhile, Sikuku’s Ksh275, 000 was credited to the court’s bank account.

Magistrate Olimo says the money will be given back to the owner once his case is heard and determined.

A hearing has been set for July 18, 2019. The magistrate ordered that a mental examination report be presented to her on that day.
