A Manchester United Fan has died following Saturday, November 20 loss after their humiliating 4-1 defeat to Watford Football Club.

In a report published by the Monitor in Uganda, the man whose identity is yet to be made public until his family is informed about the matter died of depression at a local pub in Jinja Uganda.

The man worked as a hawker who sold rat and pest poison and was famously known to be a great fan of Manchester United.

The deceased lived in the outskirts of Masese Landing Site within Jinja town and according to Kiira region police spokesperson James Mubi, he might have died between Saturday 11pm and Sunday 2am.

“He was last spotted drinking at a local bar on Saturday night but unfortunately failed to make it home and was found dead at the Landing Site on Sunday morning,” Okello a local said.

In his statement to the media, Mubi said that they suspect the football lover died of depression following the Manchester humiliating defeat.

“He was lively when he entered the pub and kept on supporting Manchester United until things went south and the team lost,” he said.

“It is then that he started drinking and he must have over done it according to the pub’s management,” he added.

However, he said since an autopsy was yet to be conducted in order to establish what might have led to the death there was no need of making further speculations.

Manchester United was defeated by the newly promoted Watford during their last game on Saturday afternoon a loss that saw them sack their manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer.

Watford secured their three points after with goals by Joshua King, Ismaila Sarr, Joao Pedro and Emmanuel Bonaventure.

A decision to send the former manager away was made on Saturday just hours after the defeat with the team praising him for a good job well done.
