A Kericho man who had been on the run for 10 days after setting ablaze his wife in a domestic brawl, leading to her death, has finally been seized.

Police in Konoin, Kericho County cornered the man, Joseph Tanui, at a relative's house on Tuesday, October 13.

Tanui had on October 3 burned his estranged wife, Emmy Mitey, a teacher at Cheptalal Primary School. He has been on the run for one week.

Konoin Sub-County Police Commander Alex Shikondi said the suspect stormed the mother-in-law's house in Seanin weeks after the wife left their matrimonial home in Kobel.

He found the wife in the kitchen and doused her in petrol before setting her and the house on fire.
