A man was stoned by members of the public to death on Monday, October 17 after he snatched a mobile phone from a woman in Ruaraka.
The incident happened at Gacheha area.
"On 17/20/2022 at 1345hrs at Gacheha area, it was reported that an unknown lone gang had snatched a mobile phone from a woman who raised an alarm.
"Members of the public responded and cornered him before stoning him to death. Scene visited and the body was moved to City Morgue pending autopsy and identification," police report seen by K24 Digital read in part.
Mob beats up man
In another incident in Kangemi, Nairobi that happened on the same day, members of the public beat up a man whom they said is a notorious criminal in the area.
Police visited the scene and rescued the suspect.
"On 17/10/2022 at 1600hrs at Kangemi market, it was reported that one Derick Shiluhu alias Kidero had been cornered and descended upon by the members of the public on allegation of being a notorious known criminal.
"Scene visited where he was rescued and rushed to Mbagathi Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. Case pending under investigation," a police report read in part.
