A man has been arraigned in court following allegations that he assaulted and injured her next-door neighbour, who allegedly told him to lower down his music volume.

It was stated in court that “Fredrick Ochieng’ assaulted Doreen Tum wilfully and unwillingly on September 18, at a residential place in Fort Jesus within Kibra Sub-County

That day, Doreen was in her room when she decided to go out since she was getting disturbed by the loud music being played by the accused person.

While outside, she decided to raise a concern that the noise was getting uncomfortable to her and requested him to turn the volume a bit lower.

However, the correction seemed to have rubbed the accused the wrong way, and the accused yelled at her while abusing her that she was a stupid woman.

Doreen felt disrespected and went inside her house, but the accused allegedly pounced on her and punched her hard on the cheek.

Once the accused left the premises, Doreen went on to report the said matter to relevant authorities, then proceeded to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

The accused was later on arrested but he denied the claims in court, and was released on a cash bail of Ksh20,000 pending mention on December 2.
