A middle-aged man, who works as a fruit vendor in Mombasa, collapsed and died after developing breathing complications on Saturday morning (August 1).

The trader was going about his business on Moi Avenue in Ganjoni area, Mombasa County, when the incident happened.

Mombasa Urban OCPD Eliud Monari told K24 Digital that health officers from the county have been informed about the incident, and were on their way to the scene as at the time of publishing this story.

“The deceased will be taken to the Coast General Referral Hospital morgue, where his samples will be taken for COVID-19 testing and a postmortem conducted to ascertain his cause of death,” said Monari.
