A man has moved to court to seek help after his son vowed to kill him over a portion of land to dig a pit latrine.

Erastus Munga accused his son, David Muga of plotting to kill him on July, 19 at Nduaru Road in Dagoreti area within Nairobi county.

David also faced another count of malicious damage.

Police says that on the material day, the father of the accused person was at his home supervising some people whom he had contracted to dig up a pit latrine at his homestead when his son arrived and started confronting them claiming that his father ought to have consulted him first before the exercise started.

It is said that the father informed his son that he needed the toilet to be built as soon as possible but that could not stop him from causing havoc.

The accused held his father on the neck but his mother intervened. The accused then dashed into his house and took a panga and a knife and demanded that he should be given his share of the land and that if the father declined to do so, then he would kill him.

Following the incident, an intervention of the mother and his father's employees who were digging the pit latrine, the accused person left while cautioning the father that he had, only given him two months to give him his share of the land.

However, three days later, the accused broke the gate worth Ksh 47,000 saying he wanted to kill his father but he was cooled down by the mother.

This time, his father did not take it lightly and reported the matter to Kabete police station.

The accused was summoned and arrested at the police station. He was taken to court following investigations but he denied the allegations.

The court granted him a cash bail of Ksh300,00. The case will be mentioned on August 15, 2021.
