Irate mob killed a man who brutally butchered his 79-year-old mother in Saboti, Trans-Nzoia, County on Tuesday night.
Alfred Boiyo, who was also stoned to death during the incident, is said to have slashed his mother Pauline Nangunda after she tried to stop him from attacking his wife.
The man's wife, Brigid Weboya, said her husband arrived home on Tuesday evening and picked a quarrel with her over the performance of their Grade Three daughter before things took a bizarre twist.

"He arrived home at around 9 pm when we were preparing to go to bed. He started slapping our daughter because she failed an exam. When I tried to intervene, he attacked me too," Weboya told journalists at her home.
The commotion and screams from the house attracted the attention of Nangunda who walked to the couple's home.
According to Weboya, her husband pursued her mother to her house, dragged her out and slashed her using a panga before disappearing into the darkness.
"My husband picked the panga and followed my mother-in-law into her house and dragged her out and slashed her leaving her to die before escaping," Weboya said.
Nangunda, however, succumbed to the injuries as she was being rushed to Kimilili sub-county hospital.
Trans-Nzoia County Commander Jacinta Wesonga confirmed the incident and warned members of the public to embrace dialogue instead of turning to violence.
