Man arrested for allegedly defiling minor inside Bomet lodging

Man accused of raping a secondary school student in Chebole, Bomet County has been arrested awaiting further investigations.

In a statement, Belamy Kirui,27, was nabbed in one of the lodgings in Sotik Sub-county where he is believed to have sexually assaulted the 16-year-old girl.

Kirui had been reported to authorities by one of the locals after residents spotted him with the teenager before directing officers to their room.

The teenager was rescued and taken to a health facility for medical investigations as the man was escorted to the police station escaping lynching from the angry residents.

Kirui will be arraigned in court tomorrow on Tuesday, November 7.
