A 40-year-old man from Kyai Village in Matetani Sub-Location, Kangundo Constituency in Machakos County was on Wednesday, June 10 arraigned for defiling and impregnating his 17-year-old daughter.

The Kangundo Law Courts was told that John Makau Kyengo allegedly defiled his daughter on several occasions between February 20, 2020 and April 30, 2020, resulting in her pregnancy, which is three months old now.

Makau’s wife died a few years ago, and the suspect has since been living with the victim, a Form One student.

Makau denied the charges before Kangundo Senior Resident Magistrate Martha Opanga.

The magistrate directed that he remains in lawful custody until June 17, when a children’s officer is expected to give a report to the court on the victim’s welfare and where she will be housed as her father’s case continues in court.
