Man allegedly beats up, kills and dumps 3-year-old stepdaughter on roadside for urinating in bed

Police have arrested a 33-year-old man from Makhese Village in Webuye West, Bungoma County after he allegedly beat up and killed his 3-year-old stepdaughter on allegations that she urinated in bed.

The girl’s body was on Thursday morning (March 19) found dumped in a pool of water on a roadside in Makhese.

It had visible injuries in the face and neck, said local residents.

Neighbours told K24 Digital that Wycliffe Musala had developed a habit of physically assaulting the child on allegations that she urinated on bed every day.

One of the neighbours, who was walking past the scene where the girl’s body lay, alerted other residents, who stormed Musala’s house with the intention of lynching him.

Police, however, arrived at the scene before the angry neighbours could harm the suspect.

Webuye West OCPD, Christopher Limo, told K24 Digital that the man was arrested after it was alleged he had killed the child for urinating in bed.

“We are conducting further investigations to find the truth,” said Limo.

Musala is being held at Webuye Police Station.

K24 Digital understands that the girl’s mother fled about two or three days ago after her disputes with Musala became increasingly unresolvable.

The 3-year-old child’s body was taken to Webuye Sub-County Hospital morgue.
