Man, 25, beaten to death for failing to settle Ksh100 alcohol debt

A 25-year-old man from Kajoro Village in Teso South, Busia County was beaten to death on Monday, November 4, after he failed to settle a Ksh100 debt that he owed traditional brew sellers.

Denis Juma Oita was allegedly struck in the neck using a brick by one of the illicit brew sellers at Tangakona area.

Oita died on Monday evening while receiving treatment at Busia County Referral Hospital. His body was moved to the medical facility's morgue.

Oita’s attacker is yet to be arrested, his family members claim.

Police, however, say they are actively looking for the suspect.
