By Patrick Mutisya,

A Makueni County MCA has resigned from his seat as the Kitise/Kithuki ward representative in hopes of getting greener pastures.

Kelvin Mutuku Mutiua tendered his resignation after he was shortlisted for an interview for the position of Clerk of the Makueni County Assembly.

The MCA will appear for the interview next week on Tuesday, November 24 for which he will battle it out with four other shortlisted candidates before the Makueni County Assembly Service Board.

His seat has already been declared vacant after his resignation letter, in which he cited personal reasons, was read at the Assembly by the Makueni County Assembly Deputy Speaker Nick Muthoka.

The speaker is set to forward a report to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to announce a mini-poll.
