Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka's absence at the launch of the seventh Devolution Conference on Wednesday in Makueni has raised eyebrows.

The event which was to be inaugurated by President Uhuru Kenyatta was graced by opposition chief Raila Odinga.

This is not the first time Kalonzo is missing in key events in Ukambani when Raila attends. Last week, it is notable that Raila held an Azimio la Umoja meeting in Wote, Makueni County which is considered political bedrock for the former vice president, and of course, he was not present probably because of their political differences and party affiliations.

Asked about why Kalonzo was missing at the Devolution event, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr said the Wiper party leader had actually been invited by the Council of Governors.

"I am not certain on why he is missing. He informed me that the chair of the Council of Governors invited him" Said Mutula Jnr.

Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua, Charity Ngilu ( Kitui) and Kivutha Kibwana ( Makueni) used the opportunity to host Raila for the third time this year.

The trio has resolved to throw their weight behind Raila's journey to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta next year.
