A middle-aged man who is alleged to be part of a larger criminal gang that has been terrorizing Kisauni residents has been arrested.
Police pounced on the 22-year-old man in Kisauni's Mjambere area while in the company of five machete-wielding men, on suspicion of planning to stage a felonious attack within Manyani area.
"Boniface Simiyu Joseph in his bid to evade an approaching squad of police on patrol, the suspect scaled a high perimeter wall that provided their cover, but lost his footing thereby making a thunderous fall, face first," DCI said.

The Kisauni based detectives caught up with the alleged gang member and recovered a machete from the injured Simiyu, who was agonizing in excruciating pain.
"He was accorded medical attention before being booked in cells, pending charges of, among others, preparation to commit a felony," DCI said.
The rest of the gang members scattered in different directions, managing to slip through nearby bushes and vanish in dark covers.
Police have since launched a manhunt for the remaining gang members
