A middle-aged couple from Machakos County, who struggled to get children for the last years, were on Monday, September 2, blessed with triplets.

Boniface Nzomo, 39, and Caroline Kathiani, 38, welcomed their bundles-of-joy at the Machakos Level 5 Hospital.

Kathiani, a saloonist in Machakos Town, described the birth of the three children -- all male -- as a “miracle”. The children were born via C-section.

Desperate to get a child after eight years of fruitless attempts, Kathiani approached her pastor, Lazarus Musyoka, whom she says prayed for her and her husband.

The mother of three says her husband, Nzomo, who is an administration police officer in Machakos County, has always been patient, prayerful and hopeful that one day they would be blessed with their own children.

Nzomo and Kathiani have named their children Larry, Harry and Mutavania.

“Of course, I was prepared mentally and financially for the children, given I had conducted a scan, which revealed they were three. I am, however, open to receiving help from any well-wisher, who would love to support us,” said Kathiani.

“Children are a gift from God. If you are married, and are struggling with infertility, believe in Him to provide. Never give up on your spouse. The birth of our children proves that He is a God of miracles,” added the new mother.

Machakos Level 5 Hospital medical doctor, Brigit Nzau, said the babies weighed 3Kgs, 1.5Kgs and 2.5Kgs at birth.

“It is expected that they (babies) will be discharged from hospital anytime this week,” said Nzau.

The babies’ father, Nzomo, is an AP officer, who is confined to the wheelchair after he was involved in an ugly road accident in 2006.

“All I can advise couples is, keep praying and trusting in God; with Him, everything is possible,” said Nzomo.
