Two women from Lunga Lunga in Kwale County died on Wednesday night (December 2) after they were struck by lightning.

The victims, Moipa Naisha, 62, and Makida Nakaai, 43, were together at Moipa’s home, when the incident occurred.

Bodies of the two, who were neighbours, were taken to a Lunga Lunga mortuary.

The incident was confirmed to K24 Digital by Kwale County Police Commander Joseph Nthenge.

“I urge residents living in lightning-prone areas to ensure that they move to safe zones every time heavy rains begin to pound,” said Nthenge.
