Kenya's CNN reporter and anchor Larry Madowo has lost his grandmother.
Madowo mourned Francesca Madowo as his commedy partner.
"My grandmother, the family matriarch, our heartbeat, my comedy partner, the dearly loved Francesca Madowo has joined the ancestors.
"I am numb. My heart has been ripped from my chest. Light has gone out of my life. Nind gi kwe, min Omollo," Madowo wrote on his Facebook page on Friday.
Madowo did not reveal what killed his grandmother.
While reporting to CNN in Nairobi in June, Madowo said his grandmother had not received COVID-19 jab despite being one of the most vulnerable people in Kenya.
In the report, Madowo took issue with developed countries for vaccine hoarding.
